Brutus is the result of my dive into making frogs in 2025. He reminds me of the huge cane toads I saw along the southwest coast in Costa Rica. Strictly speaking it should be Brutusa because only the females get that large. Brutus was named because before he was decorated he was in the scraped back angular style of my larger pieces. My partner remarked on how much the angular style reminded him of brutalist architecture. I softened that a bit by using several different slips to decorate him. The texture that resulted is lovely.
