“Laughter” came from a class I took on building human faces. I feel that stone faced busts are a missed opportunity. To only capture the likeness of a person when some insight into their character might be provided by an expression seems a waste. We took a poll in class and apparently I am vastly in the minority. Since I find myself there not infrequently, it did not stop me from trying to capture the free and easy feeling of laughing with a friend in this piece.
